  • Effects of the adenosine A(1) receptor agonist N(6)-cyclopentyladenosine on phencyclidine-induced behavior and expression of the immediate-early genes in the discrete brain regions of rats. Brain research. Molecular brain research、Elsevier Science Publishers, 100(1-2), pp1-12、2002 Apr 30 Gotoh L, Kawanami N, Nakahara T, Hondo H, Motomura K, Ohta E, Kanchiku I, Kuroki T, Hirano M, Uchimura H.
    • In this study, we investigated the effect of adenosine A1 receptor neurotransmitter agonist N (6) -cyclopentyladenosine on acute-administered PCP, a model animal for schizophrenia. Changes in spontaneous behavior and IEG expressions in the local brain by PCP were suppressed by administration of CPA. It was suggested that the adenosine neurotransmission system may be involved in the pathology of schizophrenia.
  • Association analysis of adenosine A1 receptor gene (ADORA1) polymorphisms with schizophrenia in a Japanese population. Psychiatr Genet. 2009 Dec;19(6):328-35. Gotoh L, Mitsuyasu H, Kobayashi Y, Oribe N, Takata A, Ninomiya H, Stanton VP Jr, Springett GM, Kawasaki H, Kanba S.
    • In this study, I compared SNPs of the adenosine A1 receptor gene in Japanese schizophrenia patients and healthy controls and analyzed correlation. We found genetic polymorphisms correlated with schizophrenia.

    • In cell biological method, I investigated the effect of the SNP in the promoter region of GJC2 (Cx47) gene identified in the patients of PMLD on pathology.
  • Effects of repeated treatment with a delta opioid receptor agonist KNT-127 on hyperemotionality in olfactory-bulbectomized rats. Gotoh L, Saitoh A, Yamada M, Fujii H, Nagase H, Yamada M. Behav Brain Res. 2016 Dec 1;323:11-14 doi: 10.1016/j.bbr.2016.11.008. [Epub ahead of print]
    • This study is a psychopharmacological study using depression model animals, olfactory bulbectomized rats. It is suggested that administration of KNT-127, a δ opioid receptor agonist, recovers behavioral abnormalities exhibited by olfactory bulbectomized rats without causing weight loss, suggesting that δ opioid receptor stimulants are targets for novel antidepressants.
